Every so often fashion gives our tired feet some grace and flat shoes really get their moment in the spotlight. This is just such a moment and for that reason there are a wide range of options from pointy flats to trainers and everything in between. Now I have to admit that I have just never really quite been a flat ballet pump kind of girl.......the ballet pumps I have owned have often been reserved as something to carry in my bag just in case my feet start to hurt. But I have often seen many an elegant woman pull them off effortlessly. I also tend to picture them on wonderfully elegant Parisian women which I have to admit elegance is not something I am always quite channelling.
So now that brings me on to my choice of flats....brogues, just up my alley! For the past few seasons brogues have become a trainer/brogue hybrid with them featuring a platform with a sporty edge. This gives you the perfect cross over that you feel smart enough to wear it to something more formal but they have a sporty style which is incredibly comfortable. They also work well for your off duty wear as they have the sporty edge so it's an all round winner!
You can wear them with your cropped chinos, cigarette trousers, cropped frayed jeans (really having a moment). I also wear them with tights and a jumper dress so feel free to experiment! So to help your quest to find your own perfect platform brogue here are some of my favourites.
